Meet at 13.30 at the King's Cave Forestry Commission car park (Grid ref 898 315). You will need stout footwear and waterproof clothing.

This short walk, led by the Arran Geopark Ranger, will visit the site where Scottish geologist James Hutton - the 'father of modern geology' - was able to prove his ideas about the nature of geological time and the age of the Earth. The walk is on roads and footpaths, with some stretches of shingle beach. Stout footwear and a waterproof jacket will be required.
